‘Tis one faint scene of pensive shade
For now while o’er the heart we feel
A tender Twilight slowly steal,
There the sweet views of Pity swim
In glimmering prospect sad and dim.
Still as [in fondest] gaze we lean
The soft gloom deepens on [the] Scene.
Stay sadly pleasing Visions stay!
Ah no they melt they fade away
Yet still the tender gloom remains
